Weekly Yoga Class w/ Fernanda

February 18, 2020 @ 4:30 pm – 6:00 pm Pacific/Honolulu Timezone

Fernanda is a dedicated student, practitioner and teacher of Yoga. She has been practicing Yoga and Meditation for over 15 years. She consider Maty Ezraty to be the biggest influence on her teachings with whom she has completed over 600+ hours of formal training. Fernanda is currently pursuing a Master Degree in the Science of Yoga Therapy at MUIH (RYT-500 and CIAYT-1000) where she’s focusing on Mental Health, Neuroscience and Trauma Recovery. She’s also a Kinesiology/Sports Medicine student at UH-Hilo and a Licensed Massage Therapist.

Fernanda’s knowledge of anatomy and physiology, her extensive yoga training and her own lived experience of yoga’s power to heal and transform, helps to make her classes strong, smart and evolving. Her intelligence – both learned and intuited – shows up in every class she teaches. She offers detailed verbal cues and expert hands on adjustments/assists to help her students find a fuller experience in their yoga practice.

Fernanda teaches a Full Spectrum Alignment-Based Yoga Class that is rooted in the Ashtanga and Iyengar traditions blended with the essential elements of breathwork and mindfulness. Her intention as a teacher is to bring into existence a safe, inspiring and engaging space for yogis of all levels to explore the depths of their own practice. She will be building up a general vocabulary for understanding the physical and energetic dynamics within yoga asanas. She’s passionate about helping students build body intelligence by drawing their attention towards both gross and fine muscle awareness that are required to align, stabilize and elongate when holding yogic postures. Modification and advanced options are made available for new students and experienced yogis so that all can reach their potential. Her classes are music-free for an emphasis on the calm connectedness that comes with being fully present. She’s thrilled to share her practice and gifts with the community.
