Our "Be the Change" Permaculture Blog

From Raw Begins Come Magic Musings

After many years of growing through the ups and downs of starting a new farm and cultural healing center, Hawaiian Sanctuary is closer to a full flight take off then ever before. While we're still putting the last finishing touches on things, we're happy to see all our friends who've supported us through the process enjoying the farm more and more at our classes and events. And we look forward to making many new friends along the way.

With this, the launch of our new website, comes our first blog entry and the beginning of an ongoing journal of sustainability and permaculture. As we grow we will share our knowledge with everyone seeking a way to make life more sane and in harmony with nature, a way to say to the big corporations, "Go away, we don't need you, we can do it like this and have a full, healthy life without you."

We think that by continually striving to live more and more in Aloha and in co-operation with each other and the community as a whole, we can bring lasting solutions to a world that can use some healing right now. Mahatma Gandhi said, "You must be the change you wish to see in the world." And so we strive to be just that.

And while we are still learning and inevitably have bumps in the road to get over, like on any worthwhile trek, we will keep trekking indeed into the wilderness of a greater, healthier humanity and global village, where the juice of a thousand coconuts can drip delightfully down the lips of everyone thirsty for something that is real, healthy and lasting.
